Kolkata pins its hope on Prarthana Sarkar to bring home Miss India title

Kolkata gets its winner in the form of Prarthana Sarkar after the starry evening of East Zonal Crowning Ceremony of FBB Colors Femina Miss india.  Prarthana narrowly edged out the two other finalist from Kolkata, Rhea Patranabis and Monisha Sen and will now compete with the other state winners  at the finale to be held in Mumbai.

Bollywood beauty Pooja Chopra who garned lot of appreciation for her roles in Commando and Aiyaari was roped in as the Mentor of the East Zone and thus  flew in from Mumbai to attend the mega event. From Kolkata Bengali actress Shubashree Ganguly,  director Srijit Mukherjee, designer Komal Sood and young actor Bonny Sengupta were present  as judges.

After a few round of walksand complexly yet beautifully choreographed steps the participants awaited their fate, trying hard not to loose their smiles. Host Meriyang Chang played with words to increase their pulserates  even further. And finally as he started announcing the names of the state winners from Eastern Zone, Pooja Sharma crowned them on stage amidst huge applause from the audience present.

Musical performances by Usha uthup and Manasi Scott enthralled the audience and ensured that there is never a dull moment at the do.

Apart from West Bengal’s  Prarthna Sarkar, Arunachal Pradesh’s Osin Mosu, Assam Sunaina’s Kamath,Bihar’s Bhavna Jain, Chhattisgarh’s Spandana Palli, Jharkhand’s Stefy Patel, Manipur’s Nimrit Kaur, Meghalaya’s Mary Khyriem, Mizoram’s Lily Lalremkimi Darnei, Nagaland’s Kaheli Chophy Orissa’s Shrutiksha Nayak ,Sikkiim’s Pramila Chettri and Tripura’s Mamita Debbarma held the honours of being the state winners and will head to Mumbai for the finals.
